The impact of family caregiving on organisations presents a strong business case for organisations to develop support and mitigation interventions for family caregivers. Research in the USA and Europe shows that there is a significant impact of family care giving on organisations and organisational performance evidenced by drops in employee performance, lost productivity, increased lateness, higher absenteeism, higher presenteeism (i.e. present but distracted and fatigued), disengagement, increased costs of errors, increased employee medical costs; unexpected early retirement and resignations, amongst others. However, limited attention has been given to the same on the workplace in Kenya and East Africa as a whole. Tunzocare Africa helps organisations to address the hidden impact of caregiving on employees and their organisations by developing and enriching employee wellness programs, running in house workplace support and mitigation programs and providing policy development advisory services.
