When you wake up at night, ears sharply alert because it’s so quiet and you get scared. You strain to listen and then quickly creep out of your room to your loved one’s bedside and listen keenly. It’s so quiet ….. you peer intently the dark. Are her blankets moving up and down. Oh phew! They are! I can hear her breathing! Thank you Lord!
Sometimes you don’t know how much anxiety you carry as a family caregiver until you find yourself doing something repeatedly. Waking up and with a start finding its too quiet then dashing to check which alternates with every slight cough making you dash to check what’s happening.
